The Exclusive Wholesale Marketplace for Public Lands

Connecting vetted vendors with qualified buyers in public lands.

Welcome to a Curated Community

This marketplace is designed specifically for vetted vendors and buyers within the Public Lands retail channel. We prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring our platform connects a curated group of professionals to foster new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.

By vetting every participant, we provide a trustworthy environment where buyers can efficiently find products tailored to the unique needs of public lands, and vendors can gain direct visibility to their ideal audience.

FAQs for Buyers

  • Apply to join, get approved (usually within 1-2 business days), then browse and order from curated vendors.  Shop your favorite vendors, find new vendors and communicate through messaging directly on the platform. Orders are placed through the platform with each vendor individually.  Invoicing and payments are not handled on the platform and will be handled directly by you and the vendor according to your agreed upon terms.

  • There is no cost for buyers to join and use the platform. This is a free resource.

  • This marketplace is for you if you are a Public Lands Alliance member or a nonprofit friends group supporting a public lands site with retail sales. Retail partners on Bison Leaf are nonprofit organizations that support specific sites (federal, state or municipal government), often called cooperating associations or friends groups.  These sites include but are not limited to national parks, state parks, wildlife refuges, and national forests. To qualify for a buyer account, you must meet at least one of the following criteria below:

    Public Lands Alliance Members

Organizations that are members of the Public Lands Alliance Network.

    Nonprofit Friends Groups

Nonprofit organizations supporting public lands sites with retail operations.

    Public Lands Organizations

Any organization operating retail sales at public lands sites.

  • You’ll need to complete the short application and be approved before you can browse vendors and place orders on the platform.

  • There are similarities in that they are both platforms to transact wholesale business.  However, Bison Leaf Wholesale Marketplace doesn’t just accept any vendor- only vetted partners currently working with public lands nonprofits can join.  It is also designed to strengthen, not replace, the relationship between buyers and vendors.  Vendors also get a pricing model that is actually…. FAIR!

  • No. The platform facilitates the order and communication, but invoicing is handled directly between you and the vendor.

  • Yes, if a product is marked “customizeable”, you can request a specific name drop and/or customization. This request opens a new message to the vendor where you can discuss the details, send photos, review mockups and manage your request solely on the platform.

  • There are so many unique platforms used to maintain inventory, manage data and track payments.  This platform is intended to compliment, not replace, your current systems.  For example, you can assign your internal PO # to an order to maintain consistency.  You also also download a CSV of your order details to easily setup new products to your system.

  • No, this platform is exclusively for nonprofit retail partners of public lands.

  • Your contact information is only visible to vetted partners, logged into the platform.  When creating your profile, you can choose to show your specific contact information to all vendors on the platform or just to those who you have placed orders with.

FAQs for Vendors

  • Crafted by an expert with over 15 years in the industry.  Get visibility to the right audience of public lands buyers. Your profile and products are presented cleanly with the info buyers need to make purchasing decisions and quick reorders.

  • We welcome established vendors who currently sell products wholesale to public lands organizations, or who receive a recommendation from a current public lands buyer.  You may be asked to provide proof of purchase orders from 3 different buyers within the past year to be approved.

  • Buyers have a link on their buyer dashboard to recommend a vendor. This will send you a special application link. A vetting process is still required to ensure you are a good fit for the community and this does not guarantee access.

  • More information coming very soon!

  • Yes, we have created a user-friendly interface to bulk upload your product catalog (download our template).  You can bulk edit fields like pricing, volume pricing, case pack, etc. You can also manually edit each product individually.

  • Buyers place orders through the platform and you will receive a new order notification.  You review the order, pricing and add estimated ship dates before confirming the order.  When ready, you can add the tracking number and mark the order as shipped.  Invoicing is handled directly between you and the buyer.  You have the option to send them an invoice through the messaging platform but no payments are processed on the platform.

  • Think quantity vs. quality.  Faire is a platform that onboards almost any applicant.  This creates a lot of “noise” and competition product to product.  Bison Leaf Wholesale Marketplace is highly vetted so only the right people are “in the room”.  Think of this like an online tradeshow, where you can highlight your brand, best products, capabilities and gain invaluable connections with public lands buyers in addition to the short time in person if you attend the Public Lands Alliance trade shows.  Bison Leaf is a facilitator and builds connection instead of acting as a middleman.

  • Yes!  We offer an optional “exclusivity” tag where you can assign a specific product SKU to a current buying organization.
